Graphic Design

Today, we meet Chris Arren, a graphic designer who came in to give us a lecture about what he does and help us with our course work.

He showed us around some of his sites and and his work, alot of which was very impressive.



I have finally decided to do a music video for my final project, which will be to "Fans" by Kings of Leon.
I will be doing research on music videos and I will be watching alot of them.

Chris Cunningham

Today we saw a few video's by a director called Chris Cunningham, some of which were pretty twisted, confusing and on some levels quite controversial, mainly the video he created for "Aphex Twin" who is a drum and bass DJ. His video's were interesting and very surreal, they are not my "taste" whatever that is.

The video were very interesting, some of which, i.e. Levi's commercial, was very interesting to watch.

Another video we watched today was "The Drumming Gorilla" which was very interesting, and featured, would you believe it, a Gorilla playing the drums with a purple backdrop which signifies the cadburys brand colour.

Chris Cunningham is strange.

Research

We had a discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of primary and secondary research.. It was good..

Travel?

For our task, We had to collect research from around the college "campus", With no access to the library.

I collect a few travel brochures and information about insurance when travelling. After a talk with Dan, we agreed on the idea of travel in a narrative storyline, like they use in films and games.

We had discussion about it, and went through what other people brought in and that was that.

Research Techniques

"Reasearch Techniques" is the title of our new unit, a new unit for a new year.

We have been instructed to create our own blogs to keep track of the work we produce while carrying out the tasks given to us in this unit.

All the research and information we collect will result in a final product, which will be a short film (5 minutes to be exact) of which this film is about, will be our choice.
